Charles Levi Ravenel was born in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Cephus and Georgianna Ravenel on February 27, 1943. He was one of nine children. He relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1961. He met Dolores Simmons in 1962 and they were married on February 29, 1964. They were married for almost 60 years and to this union three children were born. He loved being a father. Even though he was sick, he worked hard for his family.
He dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968. He conversed with everyone he met and loved to tell them how long he had been married. But he especially loved to talk to others about God’s kingdom and the future resurrection hope on a paradise earth.
He was an A1 spray painter/auto body man by trade and loved working on cars. He worked with his brother, Jackie for decades. He was extremely passionate about his work and affectionately known as ‘boss man’.
Charles was preceded in death by seven siblings.
His beloved sister, Electra Ravenel, is the only surviving sibling.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Dolores and three children: Bryan Ravenel (Cecelia), Dannone Ravenel (Roxanne) and Joy Wilson. Five grandchildren: Bryan Jr, Justin, Nicholas, Javian, and Ja’min. One great grandson, Caleb Ravenel, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
